MAY 25, 2020
As you well know, I have not been working for the past two months due to the COVID-19 shutdown, which included my five year anniversary in March. This has been a sad time for me. I love my work and have missed it and you all! I know that you all have missed getting your massages because I have missed getting mine as well. Fortunately, we are all getting back to a bit more of a life with things opening up more, with caution.
Although I am not a worrier, I do take this virus seriously and have been and will continue to be as safe as possible, personally and professionally. I am prepared to open on Monday, May 25th when I am allowed to do so, and you will be able to schedule massage sessions beginning today. There will be changes, of course. Massage sessions will not be the same as they have always been, of course. But together we will get through this, as safely (for you, me and every person) as we know how to, given the situation and information at hand.
Changes on my end:
- I will wear a mask during your session.
- I will wear an apron which I change after each client.
- Unnecessary items will be removed from massage room allowing for easier, quicker disinfecting after each client.
- Paper towels in the bathroom instead of a hand towel.
- Disinfection of all possible touched surfaces (door knobs, light switches, tables, chair, hand rails, bathroom, etc.) after each client.
- Cleanable surface under face cradle.
- Water will not be offered.
- I will pre-screen clients (please read your appointment confirmation AND reminder which will contain pertinent information).
- I will wear gloves for face massages.
- 15 extra minutes will not be given for birthdays (making sure clients don’t cross paths).
- If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, you must reschedule but without penalty. (The normal 24 hour rule does not apply.)
- No hugs.
Changes on your end:
- Be sure to read your appointment confirmation and reminder email/text.
- A acknowledgement signature for COVID-19 will be required before your session, returned via email if at all possible. (I will email this to you when you book your appointment. You can type your name as your signature.)
- Book/pay online if at all possible. (Cutting down on paper contact.)
- Wear your mask before entering. (If you don’t have one or forgot yours, I will loan you one.)
- My preference is that you wear your mask the entire time you are here, except when lying face down. If that is not possible for some of you, as I know it will be, I will ask that you not talk when you’re not wearing a face mask, and I will have a pillow case readily available in case you sneeze, cough, or need to talk.
- Wash your hands (for 20 seconds) upon arrival.
- Have your own water, but keep it in your vehicle.
- Bring in as few items as possible. (Consider only what will fit in your pockets.)
- No hugs.
I realize these are not ideal circumstances, but it is where we are at this time. I am so ready to get back to work and see people that I am more than willing to do whatever it takes and however uncomfortable it is to make this happen, which means being as safe as we know how to be.
